Four SP Fútbol goalkeepers starting in La Liga

The EA Sports 2024/25 League is off to a stronger start than ever for SP Fútbol. In just three matchdays, four SP Futbol goalkeepers have started for their teams.

After some seasons without a relevant presence in the highest category of Spanish men's football, the 2024/2025 season starts very strong for our goalkeepers. The strategy of sowing to reap, signing goalkeepers in lower categories of professional clubs, is a slow but very satisfactory strategy. They are not only professional goalkeepers, they are athletes with whom we have traveled the road from the grassroots. Would you like to review these debutants?

DANI CÁRDENAS (Rayo Vallecano)

The Catalan goalkeeper joined SP Fútbol when he was a youth player and belonged to Levante UD. After jumping to the first team and establishing himself as a starter, he decided to sign for Rayo Vallecano looking for an opportunity in the EA Sports League. The first year in the Madrid team was difficult, in the shadow of Stole Dimitrievsky. With the departure of the Macedonian to Valencia CF, Dani Cardenas has taken the step forward and with good performances has settled in the Vallecano goal.

DIEGO CONDE (Villarreal CF)

The best goalkeeper in the Hypermotion League last season made an unexpected move, leaving Leganés, with whom he had been promoted to the top flight and had assured prominence, to sign for Villarreal CF, a team with higher sporting aspirations, but where he should earn his place. Outstanding performances during the preseason convinced the coaching staff and they trusted Diego Conde for the first day. The rest is history, several key saves to score points in a Villarreal that is having a magnificent start of the league.

ÁLEX PADILLA (Athletic Club)

Injuries to Athletic Club 's first team goalkeepers meant that the red and white team had to start with Álex Padilla in goal on the first day of the league season. Two games until Aguirrezabala recovered, Padilla made it clear that Athletic Club's goalkeeping youth is inexhaustible. His performances have achieved two milestones: Padilla is a real alternative to the starting lineup at Athletic Club and, most strikingly, the Mexican National Team has called him in the last list of Xavier Aguirre.

LEO ROMÁN (RCD Mallorca)

After a loan spell at Real Oviedo where he fought for promotion to the EA Sports League, Leo Román returns to RCD Mallorca and does so with a leading role. The debut at home against Sevilla and with a clean sheet open the door to have much prominence for the rest of the season.

Years of hard work are beginning to pay off, and these four goalkeepers are probably the first of many more who are coming on strong at the youth level with SP Fútbol in their hands.
