SP History

SP Fútbol was born in 2005 as the own brand of the specialist store in football goalkeepers, Soloporteros. Although initially the commercial name was Soloporteros, from the beginning we used the acronym SP as our corporate image. Since our beginnings, our goal has been clear and continues to be our obsession: to be a brand that specializes in football goalkeeping. We are goalkeepers, we speak goalkeeper lingo and our products reflect that knowledge. Our history can be divided into four stages.

THE MODERN ERA

In 2005, finding specific equipment for football goalkeepers was very difficult.

 While professional goalkeepers had sponsorship contracts with major brands, amateur and grassroots goalkeepers did not have that advantage.

Soloporteros detected this need and was born with the objective of manufacturing high performance goalkeeper gloves for those who play at federated level.

In this first stage, we focused on gloves, with limited product development capabilities.

Our mission was to bring to the amateur goalkeeper products with similar characteristics to those used by professionals.

A new corporate image marked a change of direction.

We stopped following market trends to start detecting and creating them.

We form a design and product development team, searching for factories around the world to materialize our innovative designs.

These suppliers became our partners, many of whom continue to produce our collections today.

We dared with disruptive products, launching successes such as extra-long socks, glove cleaning detergent, adhesive spray and specific gloves for women, setting new trends in the market.

With the brand consolidated in amateur and grassroots football, we carried out a second rebranding.

We decided to modernize our logo, keeping the essence of the two letters, but with a more dynamic typography.

This change reflected our entry into professional football, developing high-end models such as Mussa, Caos and Atlas, and establishing partnerships with latex factories in Spain to create our own formulations.

We also innovated in communication, with initiatives such as Roberto Fernández's bet against Cristiano Ronaldo, which gave us great visibility.

We debuted in the Champions League with Ederson Moraes (SL Benfica), and our goalkeepers won the Women's League, the Women's Champions League and the FIFA World Cup. 

Now, we are facing a new change: our corporate image evolves from the two letters to a more modern logo, allowing us to better integrate it into our products and designs.

This rebranding is accompanied by a new challenge: to focus even more on goalkeepers, with a better structured collection, keeping prices accessible tojunior and amateurs, increasing our presence in professional football.

As our 2024 slogan says: we are PROUD OF OUR PAST, EXCITED FOR OUR FUTURE.
