The year 2024 is a before and after for SP Fútbol. After the change of corporate image, it is time to communicate the change that our goalkeepers value the most: the new NEXT GEN collection. The most important generational leap in the history of the brand, as all silos present a generational leap at the same time.
In a normal season our collections present a generational leap in one or, at most, two silos. But 2024 is a before and after in the history of SP Futbol. We are entering a new stage in our history and we are doing so, in addition to a new logo, with a change of generation of all silos. The result is the SP NEXT GEN collection.
One of the most important features of this collection is that we have tried not only to lay the foundations for the future of the brand, but also to create a link with the history that has brought us this far.
The way we have come up with to make this tribute is to decorate this SP NEXT GEN collection by paying tribute to four historical models of the brand.
VALOR
The Valor model is decorated in honor of the Créctar glove. A 2010 model that left its mark on the brand because it was the first model we manufactured without technological limitations to try to reach the professional goalkeeper. That first elite model had yellow details on a black base.
Valor is the most classic model of the brand. It is designed to achieve a balance between reinforcement and lightness thanks to a perfect mix of textile and latex, a medium fit and a classic wristband with a fastening strap.
The palm is an important element in a classic glove. Only the Valor Elite model uses a very technical cut with a negative cut on the middle and ring fingers and flat wrapped on the index and little finger. The rest of the models in the collection have a flat cut and only the Valor Pro model introduces a wrap around the index and little finger.
EARHART
The special model developed for women's hands celebrates its 10th season. In 2014 we launched the first generation that stood out for its white base with yellow and coral details. The SP Next Gen collection model is a tribute to the glove that positioned SP Fútbol as the reference brand in women's football.
The new generation of Earhart Elite features a new back material called Dotted Breatprene and a cut that blends rollfinger wrapping with a negative finish.
As in previous collections, the Pro range has two versions, an Earhart Pro with closure strap and an Earhart Pro Air version with StraplessFree technology. Both models, like the Competition and Base ranges, feature WFit technology to adapt the glove pattern to the morphology of the female hand.
PANTERA
The brand's most armed and aggressive glove gets the wildest decoration we've ever used: the 2017 Spotty Grip collection. Pantera is synonymous with strength and courage. Although its differential technical element is the level of arming. Every part of the glove and every choice of materials is made with the Dual Core philosophy in mind, which seeks an extreme reinforcement of the glove.
The Pantera Elite model incorporates a key technical innovation: the backhand material is FishMesh, a neoprene-based material with air capsules that allow the glove to be assembled without increasing weight or creating stiffness in movements.
Although the Elite model is the center of attention, it is also very interesting the curious fusion of materials that makes the Pantera Pro version, which mixes the body of the glove made of FishMesh with a SPKnit wristband that, thanks to its elastic component, adjusts the glove to the hand avoiding movements during the most risky blocks.
ZERO
We close this analysis with the Zero model, the lightest and most fitted silo with the most technical cut. The historical model that serves as color inspiration is the HI5 collection of 2015. A pack with a white base where each silo colored one finger green so that, when all of them were put together, they would create that "high-five" effect that gave its name to the collection's claim.
The key to this glove is the possibility of constructing it in a single piece, without seams on the backhand that can generate interference. The Dotted Breathprene material that we have already seen in the Earhart is key to the Zero Elite model.
Although usually for a presentation blog we usually focus on the Elite and Pro models, in this case it is worth talking about the Zero Competition glove, because it is difficult to see a glove with StrapFree technology in a mid-range. Although the challenge was not really in removing the closure strap, but in doing so without reducing fit quality. And for that the discovery of the AirFit material was fundamental.
